Questions for an initial domestic fire-sprinkler enquiry

This buyer-side checklist organises an enquiry; it does not select, size or certify a life-safety system.

Describe the building and work

Provide the address, use, storeys, current and proposed plans, whether work is new-build or alteration, and the project stage. Include known building-control or fire-strategy requirements without interpreting them yourself.

Identify water-supply information

Share available mains or stored-water information and any test results with their date and source. A competent designer must determine what testing and arrangement the project requires.

Confirm scope and evidence

Ask who designs, installs, commissions and maintains the system, which standards and approvals apply, and what drawings, calculations, certificates and handover information will be supplied.
