Compare the design basis
Record the drawings, survey, water data, standards and assumptions used. A low price based on incomplete information is not directly comparable with a surveyed design.
Map inclusions and exclusions
List design, equipment, power, builders’ work, access, making good, testing, certification, controls and maintenance. Allocate each excluded task to a named party.
Check completion evidence
Ask what commissioning results, as-built drawings, instructions, certificates, warranties and maintenance plan will be handed over, and who will explain them to the responsible person.
